What did I register for?

As a registered student in the conference, you will be part of the:

GROUP CLASSES and ORCHESTRA CLASSES

You will meet, play, and be taught in a class of students in the same level as you.

ENRICHMENT CLASSES

These are musicianship classes and classes on Philippine Instruments. Musicianship classes targets music theory and other elements of becoming a great music performer. As your host, we wish to impart to you our culture through classes on Philippine Instruments.

DAILY RECITALS

These are recitals running on the 3rd and the 4th of July where other students of all levels and instruments will also be playing. All may join; however, SIGN UPS ARE A MUST to note which piece you will be playing. If you have not signed up yet, please e-mail us at asiasuzukiconference2018@gmail.com with the subject ‘Daily Recital Sign Up’. Your Daily Recital Sign Ups may still be accommodated until the 26th of June.

CLOSING CEREMONY

This event is on the last day of the conference held in the Treston Multi-purpose Hall. It will feature three (3) orchestras of various levels consisting of the participants from the conferences. Pieces to be played are from the classes they have learned in the conference. Added, there will be the PLAY IN. Students of higher books begin the PLAY IN and is joined level-by-level by students from the preceding books until Shinichi Suzuki’s Twinkles, where all students of all levels are able to join in and play.

Along with the events you may participate in, you will be receiving a Conference Kit, an I.D., a Conference Shirt, and lunch. You will also get to witness the:

OPENING CEREMONY

A welcoming ceremony, held at the Treston Multi-purpose Hall, that will have performances from each country present in the conference (China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Brunei). Opening remarks from the president of Asia Region Suzuki Association, Philippine Suzuki Association, etc, will be delivered. There will also be Awarding of ARSA teacher certificates to successful examinees from China, Taiwan , Indonesia , Thailand and Philippines.

Students’ I.D.s are non-transferrable and non-replaceable.


As a registered parent, you will be permitted in the grounds of the conference and INSIDE THE CLASSES of your participating child/children. You will be able to watch the OPENING and CLOSING CEREMONIES, as well as the DAILY RECITALS, where participating students of the conference, your children as such, will be showcasing themselves amongst other students of different levels and instruments.

You will be receiving a Conference Kit, with an I.D., a Conference Shirt, and lunch. Parent’s / Accompanying Person’s I.D. are transferrable and non-replaceable.


Teacher

As a registered teacher, you will be part of the TEACHERS’ CONFERENCE. The Teachers’ Conference is scheduled on the first day, 1st of July which will be a day of talks by Suzuki Educators and faculty briefing.
You are also allowed inside classes during the following days of the conference to observe. You will be able to watch the OPENING and CLOSING CEREMONIES, as well as the DAILY RECITALS.
You will be receiving a Conference Kit, an I.D., a Conference Shirt, and lunch. Teachers’ I.D.s are non-transferrable and non-replaceable.

On-site Registration and Claiming of Kits

Please bring and present an I.D. (School ID, Driver’s License, National ID, Passport etc.) when claiming for verification. As soon as you have registered on-site, you must receive your Conference Kits, I.D. and Conference Shirt.

Masterclasses

The Masterclasses are one-on-one classes with distinguished Suzuki faculty from around Asia. Only students who registered and paid to have masterclasses will receive the one-on-one sessions. Slots are limited and have already been closed.

Welcome Banquet, Evening Concerts, Additional Tickets

The Welcome Banquet and Evening Concerts are NOT included in the registration payments. These are additional expenses.

THE WELCOME BANQUET

The Welcome Banquet will be held on the 1st of July, the first night of the conference, at the Seda BGC Hotal, 30th Street cor. 11th Avenue, Taguig City 1634, Philippines at 6 o’clock in the evening.

EVENING CONCERTS

Evening Concerts are a series of concerts to be held every night from the 2nd of July until the 4th of July. This will be at the Globe Auditorium of Maybank Performing Arts Theater, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Arts Center — more famously known as Maybank Theater at 7 o’clock in the evening.

All concerts are open to the public. Tickets for each concert are available for purchase. For inquiries, please contact us at asiasuzukiconference2018@gmail.com.

This evening concert will feature different groups from Asia in a night of chamber music. Performers are carefully selected by an esteemed panel of teachers from the Philippines.
This evening concert will feature eleven (11) young soloists with a very high level of playing from Asia. They have also been selected by an esteemed panel of teachers from the Philippines.
This evening concert will feature Filipino artists who are now making a mark in the international scene. These musicians will be violinist Regina Buenaventura, cellist Victor Coo, pianist Oliver Salonga, and guitarist Monching Carpio.

For foreign participants: • REMINDER TO HAVE A COPY OF YOUR PASSPORT WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES • For students aged 18 and below, please secure a letter of consent for travelling as a minor without parents
For strings participants, please bring your own music stands.
For teachers, please bring your instruments.
Again, Parent’s / Accompanying Person’s I.D. are transferrable. Please secure your I.D.s well.
Only parents who have registered in the conference will be able to watch the following events. Registration secures an individual with an I.D., required to enter the campus gates. WE DO NOT SELL INDIVIDUAL TICKETS TO THE OPENING and CLOSING CEREMONIES, and the DAILY RECITAL because of the possibility of security to be breached. We want to ensure to you and your child a safe environment as much as possible.
There is a shuttle!
Where does it go: Treston –– Maybank Theatre

Time: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. There will be a shuttle every 15 – 20 mins!
